Bouldering

Bouldering is rock climbing stripped down to its raw essentials, leaving behind ropes and harnesses. Climbs are usually less than 6 metres, high enough to challenge yourself, but not so high that it intimidates you. It is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests your strength, endurance, agility, and balance along with your mental control. The physical and mental benefits from bouldering makes it an extremely productive way for you to train for the Spartan Race, which requires a combination of these skills.

At Kinetics Climbing, our walls range in difficulty from beginner to advance.  Every segment of each wall has different vertical angles and various difficulty levels to ensure a constant flow of new challenges. Every climb, or “problem”, has its own solution, and to successfully climb it you need to work it out. At our gym, you often get several people working on boulder problems together, exchanging tips and tricks at the same time, making bouldering a friendly and social sport.

Beginner Bouldering Class

For starters, we offer the Beginner Bouldering Course. This session (1.5 hrs) introduces you to the basics of bouldering and works on your physical and mental strengths required for the Spartan Race. You will learn some basic climbing techniques to help you “solve the problems” at our gym, and conquer obstacles such as the Traverse Wall and Wall Climb with ease, work on your upper body strength required for the Rope Climb and Hercules Hoist for the Spartan Race.
